We left at 6:35 and got to the lock at 8:15 as planned. Unfortunately a big tour boat was at the blue line ( the waiting area for the next lockage) so we did not get up the lock till about 9:30.

Today we would get to go through another hydraulic lift lock, Kirkfield. This time we would be going down. We wanted to experience being in the front of the tub so we waited and went down after 20Buck$. It was really cool. This marks the beginnig of our decent back down to sea level. We are reportedly at the highest level that can be reached by a vessel on it’s own hull, 841 feet. That’s nearly twice the height of the old Gulf Life Tower in Jacksonville (432′).

We had planned to make it to Lake Simcoe but waiting at the Kirkfield Lock had delayed us so we stopped at Lock 40 with Seabatical. It was a HOT day and warm night. We enjoyed docktails and then drinks on Seabatical in the AC. Joe and Tara are one of the unique couples that can live in a house divided as he is a Gator fan and she is a Dawg fan.

We ran the generator all night, first time we have had to do that in Canada.
