We made a short trip to Bobcaygeon. Along the way we felt something hit the boat just before Buoy C324, and relayed the information to the loopers behind us, they took the buoy on the wrong side without a problem. When we got to Bobcaygeon and told the lock master he had just gotten a report from someone in front of us that hit something, it was probably a “Dead Head”. A water logged tree trunk that hovers below the surface. I dove the boat when we tied up and could only find paint missing on the starboard stabilizer. (The next day we tried them and they worked, but the lock would only go back in about half way.)

Bobcaygeon and Lovesick are the two most popular stop on the Trent-Severn they are right between two large lakes with lots of rental cottages. There are also a lot of rental houseboats. Got to look out for the house boats, no experience necessary to rent one.

Bobcaygeon is a great stop for folks to get provisions and just enjoy a evening out to dinner. A big claim to fame at this town is a shoe store with 20,000 pairs of shoes. Thankful Charlotte is not into overpaying for shoes. We planned to take off again early to make the next lock at 8:30.

Found some Noodles for our friends on 20Buck$ at the local Pick N Save. Back before Wal-Mart, Pic N’ Save was the place to shop for value in Jacksonville.
