This is our first day in the New York Canal System, we will be going under the lowest fixed bridge on the trip. Normally 15.5 but they are lowering the pool to give us 17 feet. The locks in this system have ropes hanging down so we put on gloves and grabbed the wet ropes.  We have to hold the boat against the wall as it is lifted. When we got to the top it was really nice. We encounter the low bridge right after the third lock. It was a good feeling to know this was behind us. The rest of the day was terrific, we stayed the night in Fort Edward Yacht Basin, a free wall. We stopped there along with “20 buck$”, Ken and Pat.. By the way 20 bucks was the cost of the boat show tickets that lead to a new boat.
