We spent three nights and two days here in St Anne De Bellevue. On the first day we got out the bikes and followed the bike/road path along the river. It’s a little hillier here than in Jacksonville, and the exercise was welcome. We saw some beautiful estates with vineyards and tennis courts. We also made it to the grocery store and the marine store. We meet a local professor and one of his pet birds, locals call the “the bird man”. He was welcome in the grocery store. Turns out the bird will do its business on command so that takes place before going into the store.
We enjoyed docktails with “Blue Heron” and “20 Buck$”, the wall filled to capacity with Canadians, as this was the beginning of a Holiday weekend.
We spent the next day doing boat maintenance, which included changing the oil on the main engines and generator. I was about a gallon short so I had to take a taxi to the local parts store. Charlotte was able to locate what I need with the help of the Parks Canada staff at the lock. We continue to find the Parks Canada Staff to me terrific. So far I have found oil and booze about 2 times the price we are used to at home. Need to store a little more next time.
“Blue Heron” came by during the oil change to tell us they were heading out to meet their daughter in Kingston. We would hope to catch up later.
We grilled out and enjoyed dinner and the sunset with Ken and Pat. Pat closed the evening with her conch. A talent she picked up in the Florida Keys.
