We got an early start and set our travel all the way to Guntersville about 85 miles. Just before the Guntersville lock we came across a beautiful bluff named “Painted Bluff”. We had about a two hour delay at the lock waiting on a large tow so we were close to sunset getting into the town dock at Guntersville. We were meet at the dock by Jeff a friend of Skip Binkley, Jeff had purchased Skips previous American Tug and had just seen the picture of Jackets II that Fay had sent Skip that morning in Florence, Small World. Jeff is planning on doing the loop in a year or so. A few hours later Jan from “CBAY” stopped by with some of her family. Someone had seen Jackets II and recognized it from her blog. Rusty and Jan had completed the loop a few weeks ago.  It was great to see her, we may see them on the way back from Chattanooga.
