We had been told that the trip to Chattanooga was beautiful. Well compared to the side trip to Nashville we were not impressed until today. WOW the river flows though a gorge into the city. It was beautiful. We travel through Chattanooga many time on I 24 when we lived in Nashville. I had never given the water next to the Interstate a second thought, The Tennessee River.

The AGLCA Harbor host, Hal, visited us Monday morning with a bag of information, coupons, and a moon pie. Hal and his wife live on their boat and are Gold Loopers. We did not get a chance to spend time with them but did talk about New Orleans where they lived a few months. That might be a nice side trip.

Chattanooga has a GREAT Aquarium, two buildings one with ocean creatures and one with river creatures. We really enjoyed them both, especially the river exhibits. The facility is very well designed.

Chattanooga also has a free electric bus system that we utilized to go to the old train station made famous in the song “Chattanooga Choo Choo. It was a beautiful station.

We also visited the “art district” which has a cool outdoor sculpture exhibit. We had dinner with Tony and Shirley from “Headquarters”. They are from New Zealand. They bought their boat in Michigan to do the loop. They are renting a car to go to the Smokey Mountains tomorrow. We all think they will be seeing snow from “Hurricane Sandy”.
