We got into Manitowoc about 3:30 and finalized our service for the next two days. We had originally picked Manitowoc for its proximity to Green Bay. We were going to a Packers game. I got us tickets on row 1 at the 10 yard line. Tickets were easy to come by since it was the final preseason game.

We yelped a restaurant and headed out for some wings. A man from the Marina showed assured that the restaurant, Legend Larry’s was close by so we set out walking. We couldn’t find it because the restaurant had moved, but a local businessman, David, saw us with the map out and came to our aid. David said there were several other bars closer with wings but we headed to Legend Larry’s.

It was about a mile walk and total NOT worth it. This place is definitely living on its legend. My wings “mild” were hotter than Charlottes which were supposed to be 3 grades hotter. When we asked our waitress about them she took them back to the cook. A few minutes later she returned with them and said the cook said they were exactly as ordered. She did give me some extra ranch dressing to smoother them in so I could eat them. It was late and being on foot we just made the best of it. This is the first time that Yelp has been such a disappointment.

Wednesday we rented the car and did some shopping, Charlotte replaced her folding bike with a full size bike. The folding bikes are fine for short hops but a full size bike is the way to go if you like to ride. Then we were off to Lambeau. The Hall of Fame and tour of the Stadium were great. We had an owner for a tour guide, as most of the town is an owner of the team. Most of the stock was sold to raise money to support the team without any control or fincial benefits to the stock owners. The last sale came with a ticket to one game a year when the stadium was expanded. They are currently adding more seats. They have about 70,000 seats and 100,000 people on the waiting list. You can will your seat to family member, down to a third cousin.

Thursday was game day and we made the trip to the stadium where they say tail gating began. It was fun and we enjoyed the game.

Friday morning I got a call from Kate that changed our plans for a week or so. Kate had taken a job in Ankara Turkey to teach English for the coming school year. It was 1 9 month job that would require her to leave in 8 days. So we made arrangements to get home for Labor Day and help her get off to Turkey.
